Power Outage

If you do not have a generator or a wood stove how will you heat the house or apartment? I it is winter you may have to shelter elsewhere. In that case you want to drain the water pipes and add RV antifreeze (proplyene glycol) to the traps to prevent frozen pipes. If you do not have a back up power supply, consider purchasing a battery backed up sump pump (cost $150 – $300). If you purchase a gasoline generator (starting at $150) have an electrician install a transfer switch to disconcert the furnace from the grid. Always run the generator outside and size it to all possible loads.
